About

Our Mission

Moon Township Garden Club is a charitable, volunteer organization that
aims to promote a greater knowledge and love of gardening, protection of
native plants and pollinators, civic beautification, and the conservation of natural resources.

The Moon Township Garden club local has been very active in our area for over 100 years. We aim to stimulate a greater knowledge and love of gardening, aid in the protection of native plants and birds, and encourage civic planting. We offer our members continuing education in aspects of gardening through a monthly line-up of speakers and field trips.

As a community organization, members have ample ways to help and offer service to the community, such as helping out with the Fleur de Lune garden at Robin Hill Park, working with local youth, making holiday creations for our Holiday Greens and Gifts Shoppe fundraiser and collaborating with our local Parks and Recreation and other nonprofits. Anyone with a love of gardening, horticulture, or community building will be able to find a niche they love, and make some new friends doing it!

Located west of Pittsburgh in Moon Township, PA.  We are a 501(c)3 non-profit and have been a member of the Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania and the National Garden Clubs, Inc. since 1941.  Founded in 1921, our club has been part of Moon Township for 102 years.  With scholarships, plantings, and garden tours our members are continually active members of the township.

From March – December, our meetings are usually in the beautiful setting of Robin Hill Park. Find us the second Wednesday of the month at 11:00 a.m. for our speaker program followed by the business meeting and lunch. Guests are invited to attend three meetings before becoming a member.  Because we occasionally take field trips or meet by Zoom, prepare for your visit by speaking with our membership chair to learn about attending a meeting.
