2024 Moon Area Educator Grant

The Moon Township Garden Club Scholarship

MTGC will be offering one or more scholarships $2,500 to graduating high school seniors and college/university students residing in Moon and Crescent Townships.

To be eligible, students must:
-Have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher.
-Attend or plan to attend an accredited institution of higher education with study in: Agriculture Education, Horticulture, Floriculture, Landscape Design, Botany, Biology, Plant Pathology/Science, Forestry, Agronomy, Environmental Concerns, Rural and Urban Planning, Wildlife Science, Habitat or Forest Systems Ecology, Land Management and/or other related or allied subjects. Applicants must be majoring in one of these fields of study with a career goal related to gardening, landscape design, environmental issues, floral design or horticulture.

Applications for 2025 are due March 14. ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES. Moon Area high school students can obtain application forms through the high school guidance office. All other potential applicants can receive application material by emailing jdcanan@verizon.net

The Moon Township Garden Club Educator Grant

Awards up to $300.00 granted on a rolling basis.

Moon Area School District staff may apply on a rolling basis for grants to execute a hands-on student project in the fields of Biology, Botany, Ecology, Entomology, Environmental Concerns/Sciences, Green Architecture/ Engineering, Microbiology, Wildlife Science, Zoology, and/or other related or allied subjects.

The Moon Township Garden Club Member Scholarships

Awards up to $100.00 granted on a rolling basis.

Funding is provided for club members to further their gardening knowledge through local and online classes.

Local Partnerships

MTGC provides funding support to locally based organizations involved in gardening, environmental projects and community services including the Mooncrest Neighborhood Programs, the Coraopolis Food Pantry, Moon Township Library Friends and the West Hills Food Pantry.
